Meet Your Farmer

Owner, operator, and Farmer-in-Chief Samantha Steiner founded Dogwood Farm in 2010 to provide the northern Cincinnati, Ohio area all natural, locally raised meats and eggs.  Her passion in farming stemmed from her upbringing as a fourth generation farmer.  Growing up on a dairy farm, Samantha learned the responsibilities and importance of humane animal treatment and natural foods.  Her holistic agriculture approach provides her livestock a stress free environment and leaves a positive impact on the land.

As Chief Guard Dog, lets be honest....Banks is the one who is really in charge.  Banks loves to go for rides on the farm equipment, roll around in the mud, dig in the dirt, and smell everything he possible can.  Banks is a very friendly dog, so if you ever see him when you stop by the farm, don't hesitate to say hi.

Our Quality Pledge

We raise our animals without prophylactic antibiotics. We do treat an animal if it becomes ill, and, in that instance we strictly observe and exceed the FDA withdrawal times.  We do not supplement our animals with hormones, natural or synthetic.
The animals lead relaxed lives in open pasture.
We transport the animals directly to the processing facilities ourselves.
When you buy from Dogwood Farm, you have the benefit of knowing where your food comes from and the farmer behind it.
Thank you for your support!

Trust

Dogwood Farm is built on trust.  You trust us to raise nutritious, healthy, natural meat products to feed your family.  We trust our customers to select the products that they wish to purchase and leave payment for these products in the honor box on the counter.  Thanks to this foundation of trust, we are able to keep our costs low and pass on the savings to our loyal customers.

Our Livestock

Picture

Cattle

Our Dexter/Murray Grey cattle are hardy, sturdy cattle that thrive on quality pastures during the growing season and hay in the winter.

Chicken

Our Cornish Rock broilers are raised in mobile grazing pens in the pasture, open to fresh air, plenty of grass, and room to forage. They are moved daily onto fresh grass -- allowing access to bugs and nutrients out of the soil, yet keeps them
safe from predators.

Turkey

We raise our Broad Breasted White turkeys under the same conditions as our chickens. Once they are large enough though, the turkeys are moved from the mobile pens into a rotational pasture system.
